Ireland Touch Association uses Ireland Active Smart Safeguarding online processing system.
Applicants should not contact Ireland Active directly.

Garda vetting steps
Step 1 - Applicant Submission
All coaches, managers and those in contact with juniors, under 18, must be garda vetted. The vetting is for three years.
Notes: When creating the account you are required to enter the organisation's name and verification code.

Form Questions
Role: For team coaches and managers,
select "Chiildren's Sports Coach".
Otherwise, select
"Manager working with children and/or vulnerable persons"
Step 2 - Validation
An Ireland Touch Association administrator will verify the identity of the applicant and supporting documents.
Process completed form
After submission, your application is automatically forwarded to for review:
Our administrator will review all documents and information provided
They may contact you if any clarification or additional documentation is needed and may reject your application for you to re-submit
Once satisfied, the facility administrator will validate your application
Step 3 - Application Processing
Your safeguarding application will be reviewed and submitted to the Garda National Vetting Bureau.
Ireland Active Review
Once approved by our administrator:
Your application is forwarded to Ireland Active
Ireland Active conducts a thorough review of your application
If everything is in order, they will submit your application to the Garda National Vetting Bureau
If issues are found, your application may be rejected and you will need to re-submit
Step 4 - E-vetting submission
You will be notified to complete the online e-vetting form.
Process the Garda vetting applicants
The Garda National Vetting Bureau processing stage:
You will receive an email from the Garda National Vetting Bureau
This email contains instructions and a link to complete the online e-vetting form
Follow the link and complete all required information on the Garda system
Submit your e-vetting form
Step 5 - Review
The submitted e-vetting form is reviewed.
Garda Checks and Ireland Active Review
After your e-vetting form submission:
The Garda National Vetting Bureau conducts their background checks
Once completed, the Garda sends the results back to Ireland Active
Ireland Active reviews the findings and updates your application status in the Smart Safeguarding system
Step 6 - Final Decision
Review of the outcome of the Ireland Active and Garda Vetting process. You will be notified by the Smart Safguarding system
Garda Vetting Decision Notification
The final stage involves our administrator review of the vetting results:
Ireland Active forwards the complete vetting information to our administrator
Our administrator reviews all information provided by the Garda
Based on this information, our administrator makes the final decision regarding your vetting application
You will be notified of the decision through the Smart Safeguarding system
